Internet marketing opportunity, NOT
Most Internet users have this dream of the perfect way of making money online, where you do absolutely nothing, yet an endless stream of cheques blocks your letter box every day. The dream is propagated by unscrupulous Internet marketers, who make more money by selling dreams than they ever could by selling reality. Every day the number of Internet marketers and would be gurus grows. The number of potential customers will one day be outnumbered by the number of "gurus" trying to sell to them. Almost all Internet marketing "opportunities are nothing more than multi level marketing plans, where the customer buys into The Plan to sell The Plan. Punters have seen it all before, but there is always a proportion who hope that this time it will work for them. These same people are the ones whose Pension plan consists of winning the Lotto. How can you tell the real Home Business or Internet Marketing opportunity from all the fools' gold? 1. Forget Internet Marketing (IM) 2. If you refuse to forget IM then refuse to become involved with any opportunity that does not have a real life product that is totally unrelated to IM. Examples of such products include courses on self-improvement or personal wedding sites 3. If the plan involves you promoting an affiliate link, there should be a recognition in the plan that you will need to spend a lot of time and money promoting your link if anybody is to ever find it. You want to be part of the 3% of affiliates who make at least a few cents. Remember that search engines can only find websites if there are links pointing to them, yet, even this basic fact is rarely mentioned to punters. 4. There should be no payment at all before you get any earnings. I have never seen any like this. Taking a percentage of affiliate earnings would work, but even 50% of zero is zero, and not many "gurus" are stupid. Remember you can find anying for free online. If someone has something new to say they are not going to sell it for $49 just because they want to help the little man. One final point Most people dreaming of making money online rapidly overload their brains with information from Gurus V, W, X, Y and Z. Once you sign up for anything the gurus' automated emailing systems start to churn out daily emails. These emails are crafted by experts and sooner or later a lot of people become convinced of the worth of that guru's product and buy into it. Ignore any offer that tries to put you under any time pressure. The limited time offer works, so you will find them at every corner of the Internet marketing world. |
